So as you may have noticed, my blog posts have been less and less frequent. A lot of the reason is because I have gotten pretty settled into life in Germany. A typical week looks something like this…
Monday: Weights in the morning, grocery store run (since everything is closed on Sundays), mess around on the internet (usually reading food blogs and looking for new recipes), evening practice, home for dinner, and sleep. Tuesday: Morning practice, extra cardio workout, home for snacking and relaxing before round 2 of practice, evening practice, home for dinner, and sleep. Wednesday: Pretty similar to Monday except I usually do some laundry since our practice is later at night. These last few weeks we haven’t had evening practice though so I’ve been able to go into the city when stores are actually open! Thursday: Pretty much the same as Tuesday Friday: Either double day practices or travel if we have an away game. Traveling consists of lots of reading, sleeping, eating and movie watching (the longest bus ride we had was 11 hours...) Saturday: Home and away games are pretty similar. Morning practice, back home (or hotel) to eat and relax and then off to the game. Only big difference is if we have an away game I usually spend the majority of the night sleeping on the extremely uncomfortable bus instead of my semi-uncomfortable bed. Most times I don’t get home till 4 or 5 am :/ Sunday: OFF DAY! Usually I drive into the city to the Starbucks (yeah, I know…I’m all the way in Europe and I go to Starbucks) across from the Rathaus and spend the day reading and drinking tea. Then I come home to Skype with Mom and Dad! :) So the majority of my off time between and after practices consists of eating, cleaning, maybe napping (usually not), and trying out new recipes (my team doesn’t mind so much since I bring most of what I make to practice). Yes, I still do Rosetta Stone and read, but I also throw in the occasional TV series (season has been a little mentally draining so it’s nice to give my head a break).
